An Intimate Moment with Mary and Martha
I always use this story to illustrate the difference between 'urgent' and 'important' when asked... its a perfect example...
you know, I had never noticed before how this story follows so closely on the heels of the Good Samaritan. In the first story, its all works used to show love, but in the second, its the works that are the distraction... so what is the difference in the stories, and how do we know which way to really show love?
For me, the difference is Jesus. In the first story, we are to love our neighbor. What is the best way to do that? With works done in love. We dont have to bombard them with our faith when its so evident in our actions. In the second story, we have Jesus. He doesnt need works for us to prove our love. All He needs is our time. Time spent at His feet. Time spent learning His ways.
I think these two stories, when combined, show a perfect way of life for the Christian. How to love the unsaved and the saved, both.

Great insight, Addie! I love how you tied it all together: " How to love the unsaved and the saved, both."

Addie, I had to read this twice to make sure I "got" what you were saying but wow...what a cool way to look at these!
On a different note - did you see all the extra responses from people about your OCD post? Be sure and look at the comments. I was amazed that someone other than US is reading this blog! LOL
