Thorns

I am amazed by how quickly sin pervades the heart of man. In one second I have a desire to do what is right and the very next second all the wrong is surfacing. I stand there and ask myself, "Where did that come from?" It was the same for Adam and Eve. When God questioned them they began blaming each other, neither being willing to take personal responsibility. And, Adam went so far as to blame God Himself!

On page 35, the author states, "...there's always a price to be paid when you listen to the snake." Isn't that the truth? It truly was one sweeping curse. It affected more than just the earth (I assume the author is quoting from The Message on pg 36 when he quotes from Rom. 8:20-22?) it affected the heavens too, all creation means ALL.

But, I love God's grace and mercy. He provides the way of escape...through the promise of His Son, the ultimate coming and victory of the Redeemer. Christ has been made the curse for us (Galatians 3:13). Therefore, you see, because He bore all the curse Himself for us, the dwelling of God will, once again, be with men and women and "there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (Revelation 21:4).

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.

  • Christ has been made the curse for us

The more I think on it, the more amazing it is that God would bother with us let alone pay such a high price for us...and yet He does.

  • It does boggle the mind, Andrea. I often have a hard time wrapping my mind around it all. :)
